Before the day, we talk through your travel dates, the kind of setting that would suit your partner, and the best time of day, often around sunset. I’ll guide you through positioning and subtle signals so everything feels natural rather than staged.

On the day, I arrive early and blend into the surroundings. From a distance, I look like any other person photographing the landscape. The proposal unfolds without interruption, and the moment is captured quietly and honestly.

Afterwards, we take a few relaxed engagement-style photos while the emotion is still fresh.

Sunset is one of the most popular times for a proposal in the Algarve. The light softens, the beaches become calmer, and everything naturally slows down. Golden hour creates warm tones and a romantic atmosphere without feeling artificial. Timing is planned carefully based on season and location so you don’t feel rushed or stressed. If your schedule clashes with this timing, don't worry, beautiful photos can be achieved at any time of the day, with or without sunshine!

Some clients prefer that I don't meet them at all during the shoot, so the choice is yours!

You’ll receive professionally edited images in an online gallery, along with a few sneak peeks within 24 hours so you can share the news if you wish. If you’d like to include video or small celebratory touches, we can arrange that too.

Will my partner notice the photographer?

No. I position myself carefully and remain at a distance until after the proposal.

What if the beach is busy?

Timing and positioning are chosen thoughtfully to minimise distractions and create privacy where possible. And in the worst case scenario, I'll photoshop out all distractions and photo bombers.

What if the weather changes?

Flexibility is built into the plan, with backup timing or nearby alternatives if needed. And if the rain can't be avoided, I'll bring a transparent umbrella or we'll embrace the rain, Notebook style.

How far in advance should I book?

The sooner the better, especially during spring and summer when the Algarve is getting busier.
